The new membership bag tags are now available for collection from the Pro Shop.
Please keep the tag displayed on your golf bag in a prominent position.
There are still a few outstanding membership payments, so can I please urge you to contact the office should you not be re-joining and we can remove your name off the non-payments list.
Winter Rules will be removed on Saturday, 30 April.
The Shoe Trade in has been very popular, so hurry up and find that old worn out pair of shoes and trade them in for a new summer pair from FootJoy or adidas.
As you can see from my shoe wall I have plenty for you to choose from, and just look at the happy face on a very satisfied member, Darren Ahmet.
Darren traded in his old pair for a new pair of FootJoy D.N.A shoes, receiving a £20 discount and a FREE shoe bag.

Launch Your DriverIf you have a hard time getting your tee shots up in the air, you're giving up serious distance. I've got a tip that will help you:
Check your stance width. I see so many amateurs who stand too narrow. They set their feet about as wide as their hips, head in line with the ball, shoulders level (above, right). That's not a stable position, and usually sends the ball short and right.
Try this instead:
Take your normal stance, then drop your right foot back a few inches, letting your head go with it. Your spine will tilt away from the target, with your shoulders angled upward (above, left). Now you're in position to really launch the ball. In fact, you'll hit it slightly on the upswing without changing anything in your swing. That'll give you a higher trajectory and more carry distance.

First Mixed match of the season - Tidworth's revenge
The mixed pairs team were royally entertained at Tidworth but sadly lured to a 5-3 defeat. The Tidworth course was in very good condition, the contest cordial and the post-match meal voluminous and very tasty. Wins from
Polly Church with
Kevin Stansfield and
Monica Finlayson with
David Longbottom together with halves from
Carole Cullen with
Vince Holmes and
June Glasspell with
Alan Barnes were outweighed by steady performances from a strong home side.
The usual May fixture against Basingstoke has had to be cancelled, so our next mixed match is away against Alresford on the 1st of June.
Now the Knock-out matches are underway, can I please ask you all to record the results on the draw sheets, but more importantly on the psi, this will enable all players to keep up to date will the results online.
There were no entries into the Men's Medal on Friday, I think the weather had something to do with that!

Steve Fennell with 36 points
10 Two's were scored, but only 3 of those winners entered the Two's sweep, each winning a sleeve of Velocity balls, or in
Stuart Marks case, 2 sleeves for 2 two's.
