The Defibrillator - SAVE A LIFE
You will have all seen our defibrillator located on the wall just to the left of the clubhouse entrance, but will you be confident to use it in an emergency?
The manufactures have made some excellent training videos.
Click here to find out more about how to use the defibrillator.
The link takes you to Zoll's Training video page and then you need to scroll down to the 'Training videos' themselves No. 1-5. We would encourage you all to take the time to look at these videos - someone's life may depend on you...
Make sure you first dial 999 and then the clubhouse 01962-713165 to get the machine sent to you if you are on the course.
One further point, if the machine prompts you to press the button to administer a shock, make sure no-one is touching the patient and then press the button without delay. The machine decides if a shock is required and hesitation could cost a life.

Christmas opening times
Please note the Clubhouse and Pro shop will be closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
If you wish to play on these days then please ensure you get your clubs out of your locker by Christmas Eve. The course will however be open as normal, subject to the weather conditions.
Can we remind members that Range balls are NOT to be used on the golf course, it is also dangerous to collect them from the driving range. Balls can be purchased from the Pro shop from as little as £5 per sleeve, or even 'pick - up' balls £10 for a bag of 20.
Stop Press!
2017 Club Diaries can now be collected from the pro shop.
Welcome to the newest Hockley member
We would like to congratulate our Bar manager Ryan and his partner Fran on the birth of their son 'Thomas Leslie Reilly' born at 00.53 on November 30th, weighing 7lb 11ozs.
We look forward to meeting him soon and wish them all the very best.
We had a fantastic response to our teaser last week. The first correct answer received was from Gavin Williams:
'Captain's charity rake is stuck up the tree. It has been there for a few months......'
Gavin wins the sleeve of Srixon Ultisoft balls, well done.
A few amusing quotes were also sent in:
'I would say that someone has been doing toss the caber Rake style.'
'You were so fed up with raking the bunkers (as your partner Mr Goater kept putting you in there all the way round), you chucked the rake up there and said "No more I've had enough"......'
'Where's that chuffing rake......'
'It looks like the bunker rake is in the tree surely not put there by a Hockley member?'
'It appears to be growing a golf club... Can it be the one that I lost last week?'
'Why is Glenn raking the trees now?'
'Someone has managed to throw the RAKE to the top of the tree done well to get it that high'
'It's not that the rake is in the tree, it is yet again that a member hasn't correctly placed the rake with the handle facing down the fairway......'
'I reckon that's a rake in the tree...... Not sure the handle is facing the right way though.'
'Somebody not very pleased to have been told that the captains bunker charity donation amount is now £5.00, and has tossed the bunker rake a little too hard...'
Thank you to all those who took the time to respond, only a couple of wrong answers.

4 games in 3 days for Nick and myself this week and our record unfortunately didn't improve with 3 losses and 1 win. Our highlight was beating
Paul Mantell and
Mike Simister, but we did lose to
Steve Moore and
Rob Wood with Rob standing in for the injured Mike Eames.
On Saturday, we lost to
Nigel Bray and
Rick Arrowsmith and
Callum and
Malcolm Mackenzie.
Our opponents this week are
Richard Broughton and
Glen Clements and
Jo and
Jonathan Russell, so Jo getting extra shots will not make this week's matches any easier, but we'll keep going and I'm sure we will have another enjoyable afternoon.
Polly Church took first place again in the Ladies Stableford last Thursday with 33 points.
Seniors Christmas Lunch, Tuesday 13th December
There are still plenty of places available.
Please enter your names on the list in the changing room and make your menu selections. You can choose to have 2 or 3 courses from the menu on the board. The lunch was poorly supported last year so it would be great to see many more of you this time and make this a fun occasion.
Please pay either on the day or preferably pay one of the bar staff beforehand.
