Bike 4 Cancer
On Monday the 9th of June, a friend of ours Andy Foster will be undertaking a golf and cycling challenge around Hampshire in aid of Bike 4 Cancer. The 9th of June represents the 15th anniversary of the death of Andy's uncle. The challenge will involve him playing one hole of golf at 18 different golf courses and cycling the distance in between.
Andy will start his challenge at Brokenhurst Manor at 7.00am, and work his way across the county hoping to arrive at Hockley around 1.50pm, play the first hole, and then cycle on to Corhampton. He will finish at Rowlands Castle Golf Club - 90 miles away! Fingers crossed for good weather and no punctures!!! Please sponsor Andy and leave your words of encouragement via the link below. Many thanks for your support!

Pro Am
27 Professionals and their teams from across the county enjoyed our Charity Centenary Pro Am on Friday. Phil Bryden from Alresford GC playing with our Seniors Captain Stuart Hopkins came out on top with a 2 under par 69. Chris Hudson from Southwood GC and David Egan from Portsmouth GC were Runners Up with 1 under par. The team prize was won by a Hockley team which included Danny Francis, Derek Bennett and Rob Wood on an incredible score of 17 under! Danny told me they had 10 gross birdies between them. Thank you to all the members that played, a record entry of members this year, to the Ladies who served the refreshments at the 11th and to Glen and his team for presenting the course in such a great condition.
Of course I must not forget the sponsors Fullers, Ellis of Richmond, Gardiners Golf, K & D Trailers, Distinct Dining Group, Gracelands Contractors and Test Valley Windows, without their support these events would not be possible. Our Captain's Charity raised over £500 on the raffle, which is largely due to the 3 lovely Ladies selling the tickets, the Parkinson's UK representative Emily, Bridget Moore and Anne Gleadow with her 'gentle persuasion' of the players to buy tickets. Thank you all.
Millennium League
Hockley beat Hayling 4 and a half (plus 2 points for the win) to 3 and a half in Saturday's Millennium League match at home. Alas, Jeff Ashford (Captain) lost his 2 match unbeaten record, but there were BIG wins for Graham Light (8&6) and Drew Gibson (7&6). So, we have 2 wins (both at home) and a loss. Our next 2 matches are away though.
The mid-week Long Course stableford winner was Scott Ingram with 39 points. Tutt Salver and EGU gold medal winner was new member Mark Bowen with a nett 67 and a 2 shot handicap cut, Runner Up was Alan Smith with a nett 68 and a one shot handicap cut.
Mark could now qualify for a place in the final at Woodhall Spa on 16th and 17th August. He will receive a winner's momento and a case of Fuller's London Pride.
John Platt won the Past Captain's Trophy on Sunday with a nett 73, winning on a countback from Graham Light.
