Charity Day
Brian Marriott has one free space in a charity golf day at Royal Winchester GC on Wednesday 18th June, tee off between 13.30 & 15.30 (TBC). Format is best 2 from 4, the cost of £65 includes a bacon roll on arrival, evening meal and prizes. You will be playing with Brian, Trevor Summers and David O'Shea, please contact Brian on 02380 367283 or 07875 241493 if you are interested.
It is in aid of Shepherds Down Special Needs School in Compton Winchester.

County Championships
The County Championships were held at Hockley over the weekend and Martin Young from Brokenhurst Manor became the first golfer to complete the Hampshire slam by winning the Sloane Stanley Challenge Trophy and Pechell Salver to add to the Courage Trophy and Mid-Amateur titles he already holds. The 43 year old beat Corhampton rookie Adam Reid 4&3 in the final on Sunday, having won the Pechell Salver as the leading qualifier over 36 holes on Friday.
The Hampshire, Isle of Wight & Channel Islands Golf Union thanked everyone for the great hospitality shown and all the help given by the staff during the three days. The course was in great shape and the quality of the golf certainly matched it.

On Monday, a friend of ours Andy Foster (pictured above) completed his golf and cycling challenge around Hampshire in aid of Bike 4 Cancer.
The challenge involved him playing one hole of golf at 18 different golf courses and cycling the distance in between.
Andy arrived at Hockley on time having already played 11 courses, played our first hole, had a quick drink and a chat with the Captain, before cycling on to Corhampton. He finished at Rowlands Castle Golf Club - 90 miles away!

The winner of the Thursday Ladies medal was Sally Haigh with a nett 72 and a one shot handicap cut, and runner up was Jill Hoarton with a nett 75.
Both the Ladies and Men's Championships are now open for entry on the PSI machines in the respective locker rooms.

Saturday for the Centenary Texas Scramble, 2 shot gun starts at 8.30am and 1.30pm
Men's Invitation 7.45am - 10.15am and 1.45 pm - 3.15pm.
