Firstly, huge congratulations to Jack for qualifying tied 3rd place in the Regional Qualifying for the Open Championship held at Remedy Oak. He now plays in the final qualifying at Woburn or Sunningdale next Tuesday where only 3 spots are available. Also thankyou to Shane Rose for caddying and supporting Jack. A busy week of practice lies ahead for Jack now and we wish him luck.

Both the Ladies and Men's Championships are now open for entry on the PSI machines in the respective locker rooms.
Senior's please note the Seniors Championship incorporating the De Souza and Scratch Cup on Monday 14th July is also open for entry on the PSI in the men's locker room.
Closing dates for these events will be a week before the event.
A final attempt will be made to play the Trifid Cup tomorrow Friday 27th June, Foursomes Medal using only 3 clubs and a putter. Enter on the day in the Pro Shop.
The popular Golfer non Golfer event on Friday 4th July is open for entry in the foyer. Do you know someone who does not play golf or has just started, bring them along for a fun evening. You play from tee to green and your non golfing partner putts out. £10 per pair to include sandwiches and chips after play.
The Presidents Summer Foursomes on Saturday 5th July can now be entered in the foyer.
Ladies Invitation Day
56 ladies played a 4BBB in glorious sunshine, the course was in superb condition and attracted much admiration from our visitors. Tina and her team produced a delicious two course buffet which was very well received. Steve Moore made a wonderful Meeter/Greeter, Graham Light was an informative and fun Starter, Thank you for giving up your time. Howard Gleadow produced some very professional looking cards and the course shone in all its glory. A huge thank you to Glenn Kirby and his team for all their hard work on the course. It was magnificent! A big thank you to Maggie Gerard, Kay Free and Ann Raison who raised an amazing £185 for Parkinson's UK on the raffle; and to Tracy who sourced some beautiful prizes. Thanks also are due to Marc who ensured that we had a successful day.
The competition was tough, and some amazing scores were returned. The winners were Kay Walshe and Margaret Nobes (Botley) with 41 points. Second was Jill Hoarton and Alison Baker (Remedy Oak) with 38 points and third was Carole Cullen and Elaine Barrow (Brockenhurst) with 37 points.
Ladies' Captain's Day
Once again the course looked fantastic. Thank you Glenn and the Green keeping team! 50 ladies played a Stableford/Team fun competition, whilst basking in the sunshine. Kay Warner ran a most successful croquet competition, raising £152 for Parkinson's UK. Thank you Kay. Stuart Hopkins did a fantastic job as our Meeter/Greeter and Derek Sheppard started us off in style. A big thank you to them both for giving up their time. Howard Gleadow very kindly produced the cards for us once again, whilst Tina and her team served us with a very tasty tea. Thanks must also go to Margaret Williams who produced the most amazing flowers, Kate Colwill who sourced the strawberries for me and Marc who helped to ensure that the day went smoothly.

Well done to Chris Quinn on coming 15th out of 73 players last week in the English Senior Women's Open Stroke Play Championship. What a great result! We are all proud of you.
The Centenary week celebrations finished on high note with Captain's Day on Saturday. Over 180 members enjoyed wonderful weather, superb golf and a fantastic firework display in the evening. I will hopefully bring you the results and report from the Captain next week once he has had time to relax and gather his thoughts.
