Titleist demo kit – Try before you buy...

We have just taken delivery of three Titleist trial sets, these include driver, fairway, hybrid, AP1, AP2, AP3 and wedges. You can now experience Titleist products on the golf course, this is something that you can’t do online and with other golf stores. If you would like to take the Titleist experience onto the course, then please call the shop to arrange a trial or fitting or click here to send us an email.

We have also had a new price crash on the Titleist 917 woods, save over £80 on the drivers now £329 and £229 on the fairways and hybrids.

New Titleist bags

2018 stock seems to be arriving every day and last week we took delivery of the 2018 Titleist bags, so we now have a full range of Titleist bags in stock.

Cobra F8 range now in

The King F8 is aimed at a range of abilities seeking enhanced all-round performance as well as the option of a more draw-biased flight while the F8+ will suit a lower handicap range and/or faster swing speeds because of its low spin and launch setting, lower loft range and smaller address profile.

Cobra are including ‘Arccos’ sensors with every F8 club from driver to irons in 2018. A sensor in the grip talks to your phone app and records where you hit every drive. Cobra and Arccos say golfers who use it improve by three to five shots (on average).

Wessex Seniors' Winter League

On Tuesday, 6 February the team, Captained by Mike Kelly, won 2.5 - 1.5 away at South Winchester. That 'away win' gave us four points and an unassailable total, after seven matches, of 17 points.

Click here for the latest league table. There is still one match left to play (away at Corhampton on Valentine's Day) where we hope to avenge the narrow home defeat to them of last week.

Well done to all the guys who made up the squad for this year's campaign.

Winter Foursomes and Plate Competition

The Final of the popular Winter Foursomes took place on a cold and cloudy Sunday morning between The Wiltshire Golf Club duo of Brian Strang (1) and Paul Dimond (6) and Brokenhurst Manor's Rob Clothier (5) and his partner Mark Dawe who is the Professional at Hamptworth. The match was keenly contested, but with some exceptional short game play Brian and Paul went four up after eight. The next six holes were halved leaving Brian and Paul four up with four to play. Rob and Mark then started a mini revival by winning 16 and 17 to apply some pressure to their opponents. With both pairs 12 feet from the pin in three on 18 Brian putted to a "gimee" meaning Mark needed to sink his putt to take the match down the last but unfortunately, he lipped out giving Brian and Paul a 2&1 victory.

Third place went to Hockley's "experienced"pairing of Steve Moore and Robert Bailey who beat another Hockley pair Gary Garland and Phil Hayward by 4&3.

Our thanks go to Adrian for his organising of the event along and starting the competitors off on some chilly mornings.

The John Simpson Fourth Card was held this weekend and the best score was on Saturday by Richard Gillespie with 41 points.

The John Simpson competition is the best four cards from six and leading after four rounds is Chris Ford with 143 points, closely followed by Richard Gillespie on 139 points. Please note it is your first round score that counts should you play in more than one round over the three days.

Knockouts

The Summer Knockouts will be open for entry on the psi this coming Saturday, 10 February, with the closing date of Saturday, 31 March 2018. You may notice them on the members' diary as Sunday, 4 April, this will be the starting date for the Knockouts.

The Pinsent Knockout is a mixed pairs event and the ladies are entitled to two additional shots before calculation. Conditions of entry will be posted along with the poster, please ensure you read these BEFORE you enter a knockout.
