Welcome to another edition of the weekly newsletter bringing you up to date with all the latest news and offers from Hockley Golf Club. No more football for a few weeks, but plenty of golf as The Open is finally upon us, will we have a British winner this year?
Enjoy this week's read! |

That was close!
This picture was sent in by Steve Davis of the field fire alongside the 14th Fairway which sent huge pall of black smoke over the M3 and the course. I was on my way to the IOW Pro Am and could see the smoke from the solent. Whilst this dry spell continues the smoking ban will remain in place whilst out on the course. |

Hole in one alert
Congratulations to Ai Lin Liu on her Hole in One on the 12th hole at the weekend. It was Ai Lin’s third H-in-O. Two at Hockley, the other one being on the 16th hole.
She used a seven iron which landed on the front apron on the Left-hand side approach (not the bank) and apparently ran round to the hole.

New Forest Pro-Am
I took a team of Hockley members to the New Forest Pro-Am last Friday and they came up trumps, shooting 19 under par and scooping second place. They did inspire me to shoot 5 under and take a share of first place.
Thankyou Tom Munday, Michael Munday and Tony Taylor still for an enjoyable day.

Caption time!
If you have ever played at the New Forest you will be aware of the horses, ponies and cattle that roam around. We had our fair share last week as you can see from the picture I took of Tony in the bunker with a pony.
Just for fun I thought I would ask you for a ‘Caption’ to this photo.
Click here to let us know your answer. The best one will win a sleeve of golf balls.

Which club do you use most?
The answer is your putter, and by some margin too. But how many of you are still using any old putter rather than one that is custom fitted to your stroke? From different head shapes to various alignment aids to multiple putter lengths, there are several ways in which your putter needs to be correctly suited to you. So, come and speak to a member of the team in July and we'll give you a FREE fitting and lesson with selected putter purchases.

Free Draw
The winner of the Callaway football was Louise Spruce. Louise is enjoying the benefits of her Rogue Driver, 4 Wood and 7 Wood following a fitting with me. She now has increased distance, a faster ball speed and straighter off-centre hits due to the ‘Jailbreak’ technology.
She has also inspired three other ladies to have fittings and all have purchased Rogue Drivers. Come and make the change now. Call us on 01962 713165(2) or click here to book your fitting today.

It was great to see several of you asking about Motocaddy’s new M-Series range of electric trolleys following last week’s newsletter. However, we know that electric trolleys aren’t for everyone, so make sure you take a look at Motocaddy’s push options too, which also feature some fantastic technology. |
Small and mighty This new Motocaddy CUBE CONNECT push trolley isn’t electric, but it has many of the same benefits as Motocaddy’s flagship models, including a soft-touch handle, Quikfold frame and Easilock base. Most impressive however, is that it provides yardages to the front, middle and back of every green, making it the world's only GPS enabled push trolley. If all that’s not enough, you’ll also enjoy generous storage space, including an under-handle net and accessory compartment. This is just one of the trolley options we offer, so if you’re looking for something with more features or that folds smaller, why not pop by the store and check out our whole range? |
