Hole in One alert!
Congratulations to Adie Nicol, who whilst playing in his Winter Knockout match on Saturday holed out on the 8th. He crunched a driver with a baby fade and his playing partners watched in awe as the ball disappeared into the cup, he and Paul Brown went on to win the match.
On the same day Keith Doyle also had a ‘Hole in One’ on the 12th, he used a 9 iron, this is his first ever hole in one. Well done to both members.

Captain/Pro Challenge
Well our run continues, another two wins this week against Mark Denton and Dave Gregory with Roy Andrews and John Stobbart. Both games were close with all sorts bizarre stuff going on. The Captain and I losing holes to double bogeys, winning holes with bogeys, getting used to putting with the flag in, which looks weird at the moment, but anyway back to the golf.
We turned 2up on the youngsters and level with Roy and John, due to me giving a 25ft putt for a 7 nett 6, feeling confident we could two putt from 15ft, unfortunately I hit it 8ft past and we missed the return. Then on 13 I hit our approach 30ft past the hole (schoolboy error) and Nigel and Mark both hit it 20 ft past the hole, regrettably our ball hit Roy and John’s ball, so we were out of that hole. We ended our game with Mark and Dave on 16 winning 3&2, but Roy and John won 17 with a four so we were all square playing the last. I’ll spare all involved the details, but we halved 18 in 7's! So, onto the 1st, nearest in three, and after John hit a lovely pitch to 4ft, Nigel rolled our putt to within inches to sneak a win. Mike Cherrett and Trevor Atyeo with Steve King and Dave Dumper are our next opponents, so onward we go.

Callaway's new 2019 products ready to demo
Epic Flash The new Epic Flash driver uses a new Callaway technology called ‘Flash Face’ to help golfers get more ball speed for more distance. |
Flash Face’s unique, internal mapping consists of dozens of subtle ripples flowing from heel to toe.
Though the size, height and configuration of the ripples appears random, they in fact work together cohesively to elevate COR in the face’s center region.
That results in a significant ball speed boost for a noticeable distance increase when you make solid contact, helping make your longest drives go even longer.

There’s no such thing as bad weather for golf – just a poor choice of clothing. You might have got away with the old ‘raincheck’ excuse a few years ago, but golf clothing has come a long way since then. All you need to do is make sure you’re properly layered up with golf-specific garments and you’re good to go. |
