New season, new grips Are your grips beginning to look tired and worn? Why not get your clubs ready for the season and save yourself some money at the same time? We have grips starting at just £5 per club including fitting. Grips should be replaced every 40 rounds or every 30 rounds if you’re spending a considerable amount of time at the practice range. Regardless of rounds played, a grip should always be replaced at the first sign of noticeable wear, including: |
- Smooth, hard surfaces
- Cracks
- Shiny patches
- Wear spots, especially where the thumbs make contact
- Faded or bare spots on grips that have been painted or have logos
- Complete loss of tack
Consider replacing your grips if the stock grips on your clubs aren’t the right size. We offer grips in undersize, standard, midsize and oversize in a number of styles and colours. If you aren’t sure of your grip size, come and visit our ‘Grip Bar’ and get correctly measured. |

Keeping you up to date
Not much opportunity for golf over the recent wintry days, but with brighter times hopefully not too far away, just a reminder that the sign-up sheets for the friendly and triangular matches are on the notice board in the ladies changing room. Please have your diaries to hand and if you are available for any of the matches, do sign up; some are an opportunity to play another course but, whether home or away, these events are always great fun. Kate Colwill

Friendly matches
The ‘sign up’ sheet is now on the seniors noticeboard in the men’s locker room. Please add your name if you wish to play. These matches are open to all seniors (aged 60 and over) who have an active handicap. I will try to give everyone an equal opportunity to play, but priority will be given for away matches to those who sign up for home games.
The matches are friendly, but competitive and essentially fun and a great opportunity to play other courses. If you haven’t played in one of these matches before I would encourage you to give it a try.

New shoes? Walk this way... |
Golf is first and foremost a walking sport, with many of us strolling more than five miles in a pair of shoes every single round. You might read that fact and instantly recall getting off the 18th green wanting nothing more than a sit-down, feet aching, after realising your shoes aren’t as comfortable as they ought to be. Well, if that is the case, it might well be time for a change... |
