The seniors continued their winning form with a win in their first 'friendly' match of the year against Lee on the Solent. Vice-Captain Graham Light headed our team who recorded four wins and two halved matches, no losses.

A mixed week for the mens section. First of all, a big congratulations to The Mail on Sunday team who beat Stoneham 4 - 1. But unfortunately, the men lost out against a very strong Hampshire schools team.

The Grand Membership draw will take place on Saturday 16th in clubhouse, remember the old fable, 'You've got to be in it to win it', so don't miss out. There are also only 25 tickets left for The Centenary Dinner.

Tina has a selection of the old cream crockery boxed up and waiting to go to a good home. If any member has any charity connections they think may have a use for it please contact Tina or one of the bar staff.

Over three glorious Spring days, the final card of the John Simpson Trophy was played and the results were:

Friday's winner's: 
Div 1 was Ian Caldwell 38 pts, Runner Up was Alan Arthur 37 pts, 
Div 2 winner was Kevin McArdle 40 pts, Runner Up was Martin Mitchell 36 pts 

Saturday's Card winner was Steve Furnell 38 pts, Runner Up was Pete Robbins 37 pts. 
Sunday's card winners: 
Div 1 was Nigel Bray 40 pts on countback, Runner Up was Malcolm Mackenzie 40pts 
Div 2 winner was Jonathan Player 37pts on countback, Runner Up was Andy Gradidge 37 pts. Overall winner with the best 3 from 6 cards was Malcolm Mackenzie beating Pete Robbins by just one point. 
Congratulations to Kay Walshe and Julie Moss for winning the Daily Mail Trophy, and to Wendy Evans and Helen Bailey as runners up. 



The Junior development stableford will take place this Saturday 15th, £3 to enter on the day by cash in the Pro Shop. There will not be any cash prizes as the ALL entry fee will go towards promoting and developing the junior section at Hockley. Your support in this competition would be much appreciated.

Finally, Good Luck to Jack, Shane Rose, Tony Agius, Paul Mantell and Adrian Nicol who are travelling to Orlando next Wednesday to play in the HPGA overseas Pro Am. The event will take place over four rounds on four different courses; Eagle Creek, Celebration, Orange County Country Club, Crooked Cat and Orange County Country Club, Panther Lakes. I am not jealous at all!

We are on a countdown to moving into the new shop and by the time Jack returns, all the hard work will be done, he timed that right didn't he!! I hope this weather is here to stay and I wish you all a happy and dry golfing week.
