Best so far... As I have written in the last few weeks, the weather has reflected our play and as you know neither has been great recently. However, this Sunday the weather and our golf improved nicely.
Our opponents were Paul Downing and Alan Darlington with the Doctors Tony Crawford and Martin Mitchell. It was one of those games where everybody hit the ball nicely, but it came down to the short game. Around the front nine, we were close with the Docs but turned two-up on them. Paul and Alan did give us a few holes rather than us winning them and we were four-up on them. We moved away from Paul and Alan and a birdie on thirteen closed out that game. The Docs were hanging on in there and after Martin hit a fairway wood that lipped out from 180 yards to within a foot for a half, we played the fifteenth three-up. We halved fifteen in pars, so onto sixteen, after we made three, Tony had a putt from twenty-feet to keep the game alive, he poured it straight in the middle, a great putt. On seventeen, we made a solid par to close out the game, so a lovely afternoon with great company came to an end. This was our best scoring round so far as we finished two-under-par which I’m sure we’ll need to continue with some tough matches coming up.
