Instead of the traditional tea in the clubhouse, refreshments were provided on the 11th tee, and I really enjoyed myself talking to all the groups as they came through. I was helped at the 11th by Kay Warner, June Glasspell and Karen Marie Dinesen (who are currently injured), who worked steadily to make sure there was a much needed continuous supply of cold drinks for all the competitors. The winners of the competition were Kathie Killingley; Viv Stevens and Susie Lilley. Runners up were Helen Vidal Allen, Fiona Williams and Margaret Williams, and third were Lesley Milne; Sue Blackburn and Marion Vincent. The winner of the nearest the line competition was Julie Moss, who managed to get her drive on the 11th to rest on the tape, and Liz Platt won the prize for the most points scored with the yellow ball. I would also like to thank my husband, Andy Quick, for starting all the ladies off on the first tee and Tracy and Gary for all their help in planning the day. Finally, I would like to thank Doug and his team for the fantastic condition of the course, and Paul in the office. Whilst it was sad that we could not reconvene for tea in the clubhouse afterwards, I was delighted that so many ladies supported me, making it a day to remember. Competitions Competitions start in earnest this week, with the Trimmer Cup on Tuesday, 30 June. This is followed by the Centenary Medal on Sunday, 5 and Thursday, 9; The Pope Cup on Sunday, 12 and the Bronze Rose Bowl on the 16th. Later in the month, is the regular Stableford competition and finally the Habin Cup 1st round at the end of the month. I hope that most of you have had the opportunity to download the Intelligent Golf App so that you can enter these competitions. Kay Walshe, Jill Hoarton and I played in the first Stableford competition last week and found entering our scores took about 5 minutes at the end of our round. However, if anyone is still uncertain how to install and use this app, please do seek help in the office or from myself. We also have a new member, Rachel Grunwerg, who is experienced in using IG, and has also offered to help get people started. If you would like to meet Rachel and get help with the IG app, please let me know and I can set up some small group assistance with Rachel at a specific time. Stoneham Cup Whilst there is no Stoneham Cup competition this year, Beverly Huke and I would like to have a game with those ladies who would like to play in the Stoneham Cup Team in 2021. Beverley is keen to manage the team next season and would like to get to know those ladies who are interested in playing for Hockley. We are suggesting a 4BBB game against those who have played before and anyone who is thinking they might like to play next year. If you would like to challenge Beverley and I to a game, please email me in your pair and we can set up a convenient date. The Trimmer Cup was won by Viv Stevens with 34 points.
