You should all have received your annual subscription letters by email or post. If you have not had anything please contact the Admin office.

The preferred method of payment is by Bacs, however, the office is open Monday - Friday on limited hours if you wish to pay by card. Bank details were included on your subs notice, however, if you cannot find them please contact Chris or Claire in the office.

Fitting days

2021 TaylorMade fitting event

We are pleased to say we have a TaylorMade fitting event on Tuesday, 13 April at 11am - 3pm and a Mizuno Fitting day on Monday, 24 May from 11am - 3pm.

Your chance to try the new products from these two companies.

To book an appointment, please contact us by email.

We are awaiting dates from Callaway and PING. However, we are able to offer our own expert fitting service using the Foresight GC2.

Summer Knockouts - A reminder!

The Summer Knockouts are open for entry and as you will not be back until four days before the closing date, please make sure you enter soon! The closing date is Wednesday, 31 March 2021. Entry can be made through the website or on the IG APP. Please ensure you have sufficient funds on your green club card.

If you have any trouble entering, drop us an email and we will enter for you.

Bryson's dominance continues

Austin Ernst stormed to victory at the LPGA Drive On Championship, going wire-to-wire to finish on -15 and cruise past Jennifer Kupcho by five strokes, despite the 2019 Augusta National Women’s Amateur Champion’s 72nd hole eagle.

Meanwhile, Bryson DeChambeau was anything but cruising as Lee Westwood forced a straight shoot-out on Sunday at the Arnold Palmer Bay Hill Invitational. The American was victorious, though, thanks in part to driving 370+ yards over a lake on the par-5 sixth hole on both Saturday and Sunday. Talk about entertainment!

The golfer's new clothes

You know what this time of year means... New styles! And if there was ever a golf season that we want to make the most of it's this one. What better way to kickstart a long-anticipated summer on the course than with a fresh look?

Then & now!

Whenever a brand new driver comes out, it’s hard to imagine things getting any better. There have been some incredible innovations in recent years and who’s to say where we’ll be in 15 years? Why don’t we take a deeper dive into how old drivers compare to the latest models?

PING drivers from 2006 vs. 2021

If we take PING drivers as an example, we can look at the 2006 G5 driver – a beloved figure on courses around the world in its heyday - compared to the various models in the brand-new PING G425 driver range. The G5 did give you a higher, more forgiving launch than most clubs at the time, and even came in an offset version to appeal to a wider range of golfers.

Taking that to another level, the G425 comes in a Max (maximum MOI), LST (low-spin technology) & SFT (straight flight technology) models, meaning all players are catered for. The Max version is PING’s most forgiving driver ever; leaps & bounds beyond our old-favourite G5, whilst the LST is compact and adjustable for workable ball flights and the SFT is weighted to help fight the slice.

When it comes to the spin we generate around the greens, is it really as simple as saying fresh grooves/wedges spin more than old/worn ones? And, if so, where does that fine-line sit between our wedges giving us the spin we need and when we need to think about replacing them?
