The junior development stableford on Saturday had a very poor entry of 29 players, considering the weather was very nearly tropical!
The winner was Mike Eames with 38 pts winning on a countback from Lesly Milne. I must thank those members that very kindly donated prizes, we had over 13 of them, more than our usual competitions. We raised £105 which will be used to promote and develop junior coaching at Hockley.
The results have been posted on the usual notice boards, and your prize can be collected from the Pro Shop.
The winter league final took place on Sunday, and the worthy winners were George Wilson and Paul Downing. George did comment it was strange playing the Winter league final in shorts! I believe the temperature did reach 21 degrees, still not warm enough for me to expose the legs yet.

Masters Sweepstake
The first major of the season, The Masters is only a few weeks away, and I am running a sweepstake in the shop. For only £5 per player you have the chance to win £150 to spend in our new shop. Prizes go down to 5th place, and there will be additional daily prizes of £10 each for the worst and best scores.
Now is the time to get your equipment checked for the forthcoming season, including the lofts and lies of your clubs. If you have one or two clubs within your iron set that do not perform as well as the others then it could be that the lie angles have moved over time. You may also have poor distance gaps between your irons so it is worth having the lofts checked too. We can check and change your set for £20 on our Loft and Lie machine. At the same time, we can check your grips to see if they are worn and shiny. A worn grip causes you to grasp the club tighter, causing arm and wrist tension that inhibits proper swing mechanics and leads to a loss of power and control. I am offering a 10% discount when you have 10 or more re-grips done.
I have just had a selection of Nike Shoes in with prices starting at just £49.99 for the new Lunar swingtip canvas shoe, and Ladies I have 3 styles of Nike shoes for you.
We are due to move premises on Wednesday 26th March, as you will appreciate this may take a couple of days. Please be patient with us at this time and we will try to keep the disruption to a minimum. Any assistance will be gratefully accepted with a cup of tea and a biscuit!!
