I spoke too soon, the temperatures have certainly dropped now, whilst over in sunny Dubai this weekend, nine months on from his first victory of the 2015 season, Rory McIlroy wrapped up another success which means that he retains his Race to Dubai title.
It's good news for golf that one of its biggest stars looks to be getting back to his superior best - that putt on the 17th was pretty special, I managed to catch the end of the golf and as I watched some of the action unfold, I was jealous of the glorious sunshine they were basking in, but did get out to play, just with a few more layers on than they had in Dubai!
This glorious picture was taken by our deputy course manager, Leigh very early this Sunday morning, can you guess where on the course he is?

Chris to the rescue!
I am hoping it will never be required, but Jack, Chris, the admin staff, bar staff and greenkeepers were all given CPR and defibrillator training last week.
The picture shows Chris practising on 'resusci-annie' to the tune of 'Nelly the Elephant' which is the rate at which you do the chest compressions.

We are supporting Derek Noyce's son Ryan, manager of the Natwest bank in Romsey who has started a Christmas present appeal in aid of Romsey Youth Carers and is asking for any donations of Christmas presents that can be donated to the charity to give back to the children that the charity supports.
'Romsey Young Carers tries to give young carers some of the childhood fun they may be missing out on. With clubs and outings Romsey Young Carers can provide a place where all the children and young people understand what it means to cope with disability and illness. The charity's work also has a practical side and aims to give young carers the skills to cope with their family situations and with life in general, such as budgeting skills for food shopping, interacting with other young people, first aid, sporting skills and other activities and opportunities that the young carers identify. The overall aim is to help young carers to develop and achieve their full potential for their future'.
They would be grateful for any presents that can be donated for ages 5-18 and ask that all donations are not wrapped as they will have to be checked before they are distributed. Any donations will be greatly received to the Pro shop before the 16th December please.
Thank you.
Adrian and I continued our winning streak this weekend in the Capt/Pro match against regular supporters of the event Mark Denton and Dave Gregory along with Mike Gandy and Roy Andrews.
We managed to beat Mike and Roy on the 14th, and on the 16th Adie holed a '95 footer' to help us go 2 up against Mark and Dave, we closed the match out on 17.
Another great afternoon in very difficult conditions.

In very chilly and windy conditions, the winner of the Short Course stableford on Saturday was:
Division One: Martin Gill with 33 points winning on a countback from Nick Bell
Division Two: Stephen Gedge with 31 points winning on a countback from Steve Hill-Cousins
On a slightly less breezy day the results of Sunday's short course stableford were:
Winner - Greig Lorimer with 39 points
Runner Up - Lee Griffiths with 37 points, beating Harry Weston on a countback.
This competition was processed as one division due to the low entry of players.
A number of matches have already been played, but if you are struggling to play all of your opponents why not consider what 4 players in Team B did this weekend.
They played as a fourball, but against each other, one of the players Danny Francis commented that it was difficult scoring to start with and easier if you use a scorecard, but a quicker way of completing the games.
I am sure Danny will talk you through the process.
Please remember to record your results on the slip next to the draw and hand into the pro team.
